The ECHOMAP UHD2 73sv is a Garmin chartplotter and fishfinder combo with a 7 inch touchscreen and a keyed assist for when taps are awkward. It runs traditional, ClearVü and SideVü sonar and also supports LiveScope live-scanning sonar. Built-in Wi-Fi pairs with the ActiveCaptain app, and multi-band GPS improves position accuracy where signals are weak or reflected. It has one NMEA 2000 port and one 12-pin transducer port. It ships without a transducer, so you supply your own.
Our take
The 73sv offers three sonar types plus LiveScope support, so the screen can do a lot, but with no transducer in the box the sonar does nothing until you add one. LiveScope can't be shared wirelessly between two units, which matters on a two-display boat.
From our buying guide
What's in the box depends on the part number: Raymarine sells one screen display only, with charts, with a transducer, or with both. Not every chart card fits every plotter, either.
Check before you buy:
- The part number includes the charts and transducer you expect.
- It reads the charts you want, and you know how long their updates last, since many come with a one-year subscription.
- A touchscreen suits your helm, since Raymarine warns that prolonged rain or water wash can cause false touches.
