The ECHOMAP UHD2 72sv is a 7-inch chartplotter from Garmin's ECHOMAP UHD2 line, part number 010-02683-00. This version is sold without a transducer, so the head unit arrives on its own. The model code points to the 72sv, and the 7-inch screen is one of several sizes offered in the same range. If you want to run sonar from it, plan on sourcing a transducer separately.
Our take
The 72sv arrives without a transducer, so the 7-inch head unit alone will not give you sonar readings on the water until you connect one. Check what you already have on the boat before choosing this version.
From our buying guide
What's in the box depends on the part number: Raymarine sells one screen display only, with charts, with a transducer, or with both. Not every chart card fits every plotter, either.
Check before you buy:
- The part number includes the charts and transducer you expect.
- It reads the charts you want, and you know how long their updates last, since many come with a one-year subscription.
- A touchscreen suits your helm, since Raymarine warns that prolonged rain or water wash can cause false touches.
