The ECHOMAP 74SV UHD2 is a 7 inch touchscreen chartplotter with an 800 x 480 pixel display. It runs SideVü, ClearVü and CHIRP sonar, and it carries preloaded LakeVü g3 inland maps along with Garmin Navionics+ U.S. Coastal and Great Lakes mapping. It is NMEA 2000 compatible, runs on 9 to 18 volts DC, and has built-in Wi-Fi that pairs with the ActiveCaptain app. A microSD slot takes cards up to 32 GB. This version comes without a transducer.
Our take
The 74SV's SideVü sonar looks out to either side of the hull as well as straight down, which helps when you are searching structure along a bank. With no transducer in this version, you need to budget for a compatible one before the sonar does anything.
From our buying guide
What's in the box depends on the part number: Raymarine sells one screen display only, with charts, with a transducer, or with both. Not every chart card fits every plotter, either.
Check before you buy:
- The part number includes the charts and transducer you expect.
- It reads the charts you want, and you know how long their updates last, since many come with a one-year subscription.
- A touchscreen suits your helm, since Raymarine warns that prolonged rain or water wash can cause false touches.
