Terms of Service

Skipper's Locker operates an online marketplace where private individuals can list marine parts, accessories, and equipment for sale to other individuals. Skipper's Locker facilitates payments and shipping but is not a party to the transactions between buyers and sellers.

Separate Seller Terms govern your obligations as a seller. By listing an item for sale, you also agree to those terms.

You must be at least 18 years old and legally able to enter into contracts in your jurisdiction to use Skipper's Locker. You are responsible for keeping your account credentials secure and for all activity under your account.

You may use Skipper's Locker in two ways:

• •Registered accounts — created by signing up with email + password, or via Google or Apple. Required for selling.
• •Guest checkout — you can purchase without registering by providing your email at checkout. You may convert a guest account to a registered account at any time using the same email.

You agree to provide accurate, current information when registering and to keep it up to date.

• •Buyers are charged only after the seller purchases a shipping label. Payments are held in escrow until the inspection window passes after delivery.
• •Buyers may open a dispute within 7 days of delivery if the item materially differs from the listing description.
• •Buyers must provide accurate shipping addresses. We are not liable for orders delivered to incorrect addresses you provided.
• •Buyers may not engage in chargebacks outside the dispute process; doing so may result in account termination.

Buyers pay the listed item price plus shipping at checkout. There are no additional buyer fees. Sellers pay an 8% platform fee deducted automatically from sale proceeds; see the Seller Terms for details.

You agree not to:

• •Use Skipper's Locker for any unlawful purpose or to violate any applicable law or regulation.
• •Misrepresent your identity, impersonate any person, or create accounts to manipulate marketplace activity.
• •Upload content that is defamatory, infringes intellectual property, or violates another person's privacy.
• •Attempt to circumvent the platform's payment flow by transacting off-platform with users you met through Skipper's Locker.
• •Use automated means (scrapers, bots) to collect information from the platform without written permission.
• •Interfere with the platform's operation, security, or other users' access.

The Skipper's Locker name, logo, design, and platform code are owned by Skipper's Locker. Listing content (titles, descriptions, photos) is owned by the seller who posted it. By listing an item, the seller grants Skipper's Locker a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to display, distribute, and promote that content on the platform and in related marketing materials.

Our Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, and protect your information. By using Skipper's Locker you consent to the practices described there.

Skipper's Locker is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind. We do not inspect, certify, or guarantee the quality, safety, or legality of items listed on the platform. You assume full responsibility for evaluating items before purchase.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Skipper's Locker's total liability to you for any claim arising from your use of the platform shall not exceed the total fees you paid to Skipper's Locker in the 12 months preceding the claim, or $100, whichever is greater. Skipper's Locker is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages.

You may close your account at any time. Skipper's Locker may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, engage in fraudulent activity, or create risk for other users or the platform. On termination, your pending orders will be resolved according to their current state (refunded, cancelled, or completed as appropriate).

These terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the state in which Skipper's Locker is registered, without regard to conflict of laws principles. Any disputes not resolved through the platform's dispute process shall be resolved through binding arbitration on an individual basis.

Skipper's Locker may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes via email or a prominent notice on the platform at least 14 days before the changes take effect. Your continued use of Skipper's Locker after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
