The ECHOMAP UHD2 72sv is a 7-inch touchscreen chartplotter with a GT54 transducer, built for freshwater and coastal fishing. The transducer provides traditional 2D sonar, ClearVü scanning and SideVü imaging that reaches up to 200 feet. A multi-band GPS receiver is meant to hold accuracy in difficult signal conditions. A Worldwide Basemap comes preloaded, with Navionics+ and Vision+ charts as optional subscriptions. Wi-Fi shares sonar, waypoints and routes with compatible Garmin devices, while NMEA 2000 support and the ActiveCaptain app handle data transfer.

Our take

SideVü on the GT54 reaches up to 200 feet, so one pass scans a wide strip of bottom well out from the hull. Detailed charts are an optional subscription on top of the preloaded basemap, so budget for one if you want more than the basemap.

From our buying guide

What's in the box depends on the part number: Raymarine sells one screen display only, with charts, with a transducer, or with both. Not every chart card fits every plotter, either.

Check before you buy:

  • The part number includes the charts and transducer you expect.
  • It reads the charts you want, and you know how long their updates last, since many come with a one-year subscription.
  • A touchscreen suits your helm, since Raymarine warns that prolonged rain or water wash can cause false touches.
