The ECHOMAP UHD2 63sv is a Garmin chartplotter and fishfinder combo with a 6-inch touchscreen backed by a keyed assist. It runs traditional, ClearVü and SideVü sonar, and it also supports LiveScope live-scanning sonar. The 6-inch unit comes with a GT54 transducer, plus a power cable and a tilt mount with quick-release cradle. It has one NMEA 2000 port, one Garmin Marine Network port and built-in Wi-Fi for the ActiveCaptain app. Multi-band GPS improves position accuracy where signals are weak or reflected.
Our take
The bundled GT54 transducer means the 6-inch 63sv has sonar hardware in the box, so you can get on the water without sourcing a separate transducer. Note that LiveScope can't be shared wirelessly between two UHD2 units.
From our buying guide
What's in the box depends on the part number: Raymarine sells one screen display only, with charts, with a transducer, or with both. Not every chart card fits every plotter, either.
Check before you buy:
- The part number includes the charts and transducer you expect.
- It reads the charts you want, and you know how long their updates last, since many come with a one-year subscription.
- A touchscreen suits your helm, since Raymarine warns that prolonged rain or water wash can cause false touches.
