The ECHOMAP UHD2 62sv is a 6-inch touchscreen chartplotter with an anti-glare, sunlight-readable screen. This part number is the version sold without a transducer, so one has to be added to get sonar working. It runs a traditional sonar engine and includes a Worldwide Basemap that can be upgraded to Navionics+ and BlueChart g3 charts. NMEA 2000 networking and Wi-Fi link it to other devices and the ActiveCaptain app, and LiveScope real-time sonar is supported with compatible transducers.
Our take
Sold without a transducer, this 62sv needs a compatible one before its sonar engine has anything to read. The Worldwide Basemap is the starting point, with Navionics+ or BlueChart g3 as the route to more chart detail.
From our buying guide
What's in the box depends on the part number: Raymarine sells one screen display only, with charts, with a transducer, or with both. Not every chart card fits every plotter, either.
Check before you buy:
- The part number includes the charts and transducer you expect.
- It reads the charts you want, and you know how long their updates last, since many come with a one-year subscription.
- A touchscreen suits your helm, since Raymarine warns that prolonged rain or water wash can cause false touches.
