The Rocna ROCORG110SS is the 110 kg (243 lb) stainless steel version of the roll-bar, scoop-bladed Rocna anchor, with a mirror polished finish. It is made from tempered 800 mPa high tensile steel and has no moving parts. This is the largest size for which the maker gives sizing recommendations, and multihulls are told to go one size larger than a monohull of the same size. It carries RINA certification for Super High Holding Power and a lifetime warranty against breakage or deformation.
Our take
At 243 lb (110 kg), this is the largest Rocna size the maker gives sizing advice for. Its tempered 800 mPa steel is credited with virtually eliminating deformation, which is the property you want in an anchor of this size, backed by a lifetime warranty.
From our buying guide
The Coast Guard does not regulate anchors, so no anchor carries its approval. Each maker sizes on its own assumptions, so a size on one chart does not translate to another.
Check before you buy:
- You know what wind the maker's chart assumes. Rocna's assumes 50 knots and Fortress's 30 knots.
- It fits your bow, since makers say some designs fit bow rollers, bow pulpits or bowsprits better.
- The type suits your bottom. A Coast Guard Auxiliary article says the right type depends a lot on your boat, your anchoring and the make-up of the bottom.
