The Rocna ROCORG033SS is the 73 lb (33 kg) mirror-polished stainless steel version of the Rocna roll-bar anchor, with a large concave scoop blade and no moving parts. A roll-bar brings the anchor round to set correctly, and the slotted attachment point takes the head of a shackle. It carries RINA certification for Super High Holding Power across the range, and a lifetime warranty against breakage or deformation.
Our take
The roll-bar brings the anchor round into its setting attitude however it lands, and the slotted attachment point takes the head of a shackle, so a shackle sized to the chain connects directly to the anchor.
From our buying guide
The Coast Guard does not regulate anchors, so no anchor carries its approval. Each maker sizes on its own assumptions, so a size on one chart does not translate to another.
Check before you buy:
- You know what wind the maker's chart assumes. Rocna's assumes 50 knots and Fortress's 30 knots.
- It fits your bow, since makers say some designs fit bow rollers, bow pulpits or bowsprits better.
- The type suits your bottom. A Coast Guard Auxiliary article says the right type depends a lot on your boat, your anchoring and the make-up of the bottom.
