The ECHOMAP Ultra 2 162sv is a 16 inch touchscreen chartplotter with a 1920 x 1080 IPS display, 15.6 inches on the diagonal. This version carries the Worldwide Basemap and ships without a transducer. Sonar is built in, with CHIRP traditional plus ClearVu and SideVu scanning, and it supports the LiveScope range with transducers bought separately. It has multi-band GPS, NMEA 2000 networking, IPX7 water rating and bail or flush mounting. Power input is 9 to 18 Vdc.
Our take
The 1920 x 1080 panel on a 15.6 inch diagonal gives a lot of room for split sonar and chart views. But with no transducer in the box and only a Worldwide Basemap, you must add your own sonar hardware and think about detailed charts.
From our buying guide
What's in the box depends on the part number: Raymarine sells one screen display only, with charts, with a transducer, or with both. Not every chart card fits every plotter, either.
Check before you buy:
- The part number includes the charts and transducer you expect.
- It reads the charts you want, and you know how long their updates last, since many come with a one-year subscription.
- A touchscreen suits your helm, since Raymarine warns that prolonged rain or water wash can cause false touches.
