The Bluestorm Motive is a Type III, Coast Guard-approved kayak fishing vest in Hi-Vis, size S/M, cut for a 30 to 36 inch chest. A zippered front entry and sculpted PVC foam shape it to the body. It has 6 points of adjustment, 2 large storage pockets for gear, fleece-lined hand warmer pockets and a 3D mesh lining.
Our take
The six adjustment points and zippered front entry let you cinch this vest to a 30 to 36 inch chest, while the 3D mesh lining is there to keep you cool. It is Type III and Coast Guard approved, with two large pockets for gear.
From our buying guide
US rules count Coast Guard-approved jackets. One approved only to European or ISO standards doesn't meet the US carriage rules, however good it is.
Check before you buy:
- The approval number is on the label, and the jacket fits you as that label marks.
- You're getting the US version, since some jackets are sold in two.
- If it's Level 50, it only counts toward what you must carry when it's worn.
