Specifications
- Rated flow
- 1100 gal/h
- Voltage
- 24V
This is the 24V version of Rule's 27 Series submersible bilge pump, rated at 1100 GPH. It has a built-in check valve to stop water running back into the bilge, and small vents under the strainer tabs that bleed off trapped air so the pump doesn't airlock. The motor has a thermal cell against overheating and a stainless-steel shaft, and the pump is ignition protected. The dual-diameter outflow port takes 1 inch or 1-1/8 inch hose. It is non-automatic, so it needs a separate float or panel switch.
Our take
The redesign delivers the 1100 GPH rating at a true 24 V, not the 27.2 V the older 24V model needed, so the figure holds on a normal battery bank. With no automatic switching, you must wire a float or panel switch to get it running.
From our buying guide
Rule and Johnson both say their bilge pumps are not intended for damage control. Flow falls as the discharge head rises, and the length of the hose, its bends and any check valve reduce it further.
Check before you buy:
- The maker's own table shows the flow at head, since how much a pump loses depends on the model.
- An automatic pump also has a manual switch, which ABYC's voluntary 2005 standard calls for.
- You'll fuse it to the maker's figure.
