The Dometic SaniPottie 974 is a portable toilet with a 2.6 gal holding tank, in gray, supplied with hold-down brackets. A push button flushes from a 2.3 gal supply tank, and the flush chamber is pressurized with the built-in hand pump, good for 4 - 5 flushes. The body is high strength ABS and measures 12-1/2"H x 13-1/8"W x 15-1/4"Deep. A prismatic indicator shows the tank level, and the lid latches. This Standard version is emptied by carrying the tank base, which has a handle and pouring spout, to a disposal point.

A vessel with installed toilet facilities must have an operable marine sanitation device that is labeled or certified. EPA says untreated sewage may not be discharged within three miles from shore, and in a No Discharge Zone treated sewage may not be either.
Check before you buy:
- You have what it needs, since heads may call for 12-volt power, through-hulls and seacocks, or a separate vacuum source.
- It fits the compartment, since Jabsco says an electric toilet needs more space at the rear than a manual one.
- If it could sit below the waterline, you'll fit a vented loop as the maker specifies, since Jabsco warns the vent, not the loop, is what stops the siphon.
