This Attwood Frosted Globe is a 36 inch all-round pole light with 2 nautical mile visibility, made for boats up to 65.6 feet (20 m). A 9-watt wedge-base lamp is included. The locking collar pole is meant to be used with a wide range of Attwood 2-pin bases, straight or angled, and it is also said to work as a replacement in Perko bases.
Our take
The locking collar pole with a 2-pin fit is the useful part of this Attwood all-round light. It is stated to work with Attwood straight or angled 2-pin bases and in Perko bases, so a boat that already has one of those may not need a new base.
From our buying guide
The lights a boat must show depend on its length and how it's being driven. A sailboat under power is a power-driven vessel and shows power-driven lights.
Check before you buy:
- The label gives its visibility in nautical miles, and that range meets the minimum for your boat's length.
- The maker rates it for boats of your length.
- A replacement LED is certified with the fixture it's going into, since the Coast Guard warns that replacement lighting may not meet the rules.
