This is Attwood's frosted all-round light on a 42 inch aluminum pole, part number 5110-42-7. It throws light through a full 360 degrees and is meant for boats up to 39.4 feet (12 meters) long. It ships with an 8-watt wedge-base lamp. The pole is the 2-pin locking collar type, and it fits bases 91020, 91022, 91024 and 91026 directly. Some other bases also work, but only once the locking collar has been taken off.
Our take
The 42 inch aluminum pole with a 2-pin locking collar means you need to check your base first. It drops straight into four Attwood bases, while others only work with the collar removed, so match the base before you commit.
From our buying guide
The lights a boat must show depend on its length and how it's being driven. A sailboat under power is a power-driven vessel and shows power-driven lights.
Check before you buy:
- The label gives its visibility in nautical miles, and that range meets the minimum for your boat's length.
- The maker rates it for boats of your length.
- A replacement LED is certified with the fixture it's going into, since the Coast Guard warns that replacement lighting may not meet the rules.
