The Vortex Vanquish 8x26 is a compact binocular with reverse Porro prism optics and a 352-foot field of view at 1,000 yards. It weighs 12.7 ounces. O-ring seals keep out moisture, dust and debris, and nitrogen purging makes it fogproof as well as waterproof. A center focus wheel moves both barrels together, close focus is 7.6 feet, and the exit pupil is 3.3 mm.
Our take
At 8x with 26 mm objectives, this binocular weighs only 12.7 ounces, and the 352-foot field of view at 1,000 yards gives a broad sweep for picking out marks along a shoreline. Its sealed, nitrogen-purged body is built to keep fog and moisture out.
