The Simrad NSS9 evo3S combo is a touchscreen chartplotter and fishfinder with a 9-inch, 1280 x 720 display, supplied with a HALO20+ radar. It has a 1kW CHIRP sonar with two transducer ports, but no transducer is included. The 20-inch HALO20+ dome reaches 36 nm and rotates at 60 RPM on ranges up to 1.5 nm, giving quick updates at close range.
Our take
With no transducer included, the 1kW CHIRP sonar on this NSS9 needs one added before it can do anything. Once fitted, the two transducer ports leave room to connect a second transducer to the same display.
