The Onyx MoveVent Dynamic is a foam paddle sports vest in yellow and grey, size XS-S. It uses soft, lightweight flotation foam and mesh ventilation at front and back, and its mesh design suits high-backed seats and sit-on-top kayaks. Fit is adjusted with neoprene-padded shoulder straps and adjustable side belts. Safety and storage features include SOLAS grade reflective material, an attached whistle and an expandable zippered pocket with mesh drainage.
Our take
The mesh panels front and back keep this vest cooler, and the same open design suits the high seat backs and sit-on-top kayaks it is made for. SOLAS grade reflective material and an attached whistle add visibility and a way to signal.
From our buying guide
US rules count Coast Guard-approved jackets. One approved only to European or ISO standards doesn't meet the US carriage rules, however good it is.
Check before you buy:
- The approval number is on the label, and the jacket fits you as that label marks.
- You're getting the US version, since some jackets are sold in two.
- If it's Level 50, it only counts toward what you must carry when it's worn.
