This is Jabsco's manual marine toilet with a regular size bowl and a composite soft close lid. It flushes with raw water and is meant for sea, river or lake water only. The self-priming pump can be installed above or below the waterline, and the mounting is reversible so the pump can go on either side. Discharge can run overboard or to a holding tank. A Twist 'n' Lock handle turns 90 degrees to guard against siphonic flooding and waste backflow, and fastenings face front or top for maintenance access.
Our take
The Twist 'n' Lock handle closes off siphonic flooding and backflow with a single 90 degree turn, a useful safeguard when the bowl sits near the waterline. The pump can go above or below the waterline, so placement is flexible, but flushing is raw water only.}}
From our buying guide
A vessel with installed toilet facilities must have an operable marine sanitation device that is labeled or certified. EPA says untreated sewage may not be discharged within three miles from shore, and in a No Discharge Zone treated sewage may not be either.
Check before you buy:
- You have what it needs, since heads may call for 12-volt power, through-hulls and seacocks, or a separate vacuum source.
- It fits the compartment, since Jabsco says an electric toilet needs more space at the rear than a manual one.
- If it could sit below the waterline, you'll fit a vented loop as the maker specifies, since Jabsco warns the vent, not the loop, is what stops the siphon.
