This is the Jabsco electric marine toilet with the regular bowl and a 24V DC supply. A built-in macerator and an integral rinse pump come with it, and it can discharge overboard or to a holding tank. It measures 14 3/8" H x 14 5/8" W x 19 3/4" D and takes a 3/4" bore inlet hose and a 1" bore discharge hose. It can sit 3 ft (1 m) above or below the waterline with suitable plumbing.

Our take

This is the 24V DC build, so it needs a 24V supply rather than 12V. The rinse pump draws raw water only, which means sea, river or lake water and no freshwater flush.

From our buying guide

A vessel with installed toilet facilities must have an operable marine sanitation device that is labeled or certified. EPA says untreated sewage may not be discharged within three miles from shore, and in a No Discharge Zone treated sewage may not be either.

Check before you buy:

  • You have what it needs, since heads may call for 12-volt power, through-hulls and seacocks, or a separate vacuum source.
  • It fits the compartment, since Jabsco says an electric toilet needs more space at the rear than a manual one.
  • If it could sit below the waterline, you'll fit a vented loop as the maker specifies, since Jabsco warns the vent, not the loop, is what stops the siphon.
