The Bluestorm Kinetic is a Type III, Coast Guard-approved foam life jacket for kayak fishing, in Nitro Red and size L/XL. Its webbing is built to stretch as you paddle and cast, and 8 adjustment points tailor the fit. Sculpted PVC foam shapes to the body. Two large tabletop pockets hold organized gear, with fast-access pockets alongside and multiple attachment points for tools. It is described for use on kayaks, canoes and stand-up paddleboards.
Our take
The Kinetic webbing stretches with each stroke and cast, so the jacket should not fight your shoulders while you work. Eight adjustment points then let you dial the fit in around the foam.
From our buying guide
US rules count Coast Guard-approved jackets. One approved only to European or ISO standards doesn't meet the US carriage rules, however good it is.
Check before you buy:
- The approval number is on the label, and the jacket fits you as that label marks.
- You're getting the US version, since some jackets are sold in two.
- If it's Level 50, it only counts toward what you must carry when it's worn.
