The Attwood Tsunami Mk2 is a 12V bilge pump rated at 800 GPH at 0 ft head. Its patented X-Air impeller is designed to push air trapped in the hose and under the pump out through the pipework. External mounting feet let the cartridge be changed without removing the basket, and a universal mounting pattern is used. The 90 degree outlet rotates 360 degrees. It needs a 5A fuse and has a check valve.
Our take
The 800 GPH figure is stated at 0 ft head, meaning no lift, so output will drop once the hose climbs to a through-hull. The maker also only calls it suitable for freshwater, so saltwater bilges are outside what it claims.

Rule and Johnson both say their bilge pumps are not intended for damage control. Flow falls as the discharge head rises, and the length of the hose, its bends and any check valve reduce it further.
Check before you buy:
- The maker's own table shows the flow at head, since how much a pump loses depends on the model.
- An automatic pump also has a manual switch, which ABYC's voluntary 2005 standard calls for.
- You'll fuse it to the maker's figure.
