The VE.Bus BMS is a battery management system for Victron Lithium Battery Smart batteries in 12,8V and 25,6V versions, used in systems with Victron inverters or inverter/chargers that talk over VE.Bus. It watches every cell for over voltage and under voltage, and it also tracks over temperature and under temperature. On a fault it acts through VE.Bus and through its own terminals: one disconnects other loads and another disconnects other chargers. A pre-alarm signal gives notice that a cell is close to under voltage. It also has remote on/off terminals, plus auxiliary power terminals that keep a GX device powered.
Our take
Separate Load Disconnect and Charge Disconnect terminals mean it can cut other loads and other chargers as well as act over VE.Bus, so equipment outside the Victron inverter link can still be switched off when a cell goes out of range.
