The Victron SmartSolar MPPT 75/10 is an MPPT solar charge controller for 12V and 24V batteries. It is rated for 10 A of charge current and accepts up to 75 V of open-circuit panel voltage. Nominal panel power is 145 W on a 12V bank and 290 W on 24V. It adds a load output rated for 15 A continuous at 12V, with automatic load disconnect, and it has Bluetooth.
Our take
The 145 W nominal panel rating at 12V rises to 290 W on a 24V bank, with the charge rating at 10 A either way. The load output carries 15 A continuous at 12V and includes automatic load disconnect, so small loads can hang directly off the controller.
From our buying guide
NMMA says charging sources must meet the charging profile the battery maker recommends. A charger's presets are its own maker's, so set it from the battery maker's figures.
Check before you buy:
- It can follow your battery's profile, since not every charger can follow a lithium maker's.
- On a boat subpart I covers, each ungrounded output conductor from a battery needs a manually reset, trip-free circuit breaker or fuse within 72 inches of the battery.
