The SmartSolar MPPT 100/30 is a single-tracker solar charge controller from Victron Energy for 12V and 24V battery banks. It is rated for a 30 A charge current and accepts panels up to 100 V open circuit, with nominal panel power of 440 W at 12V and 880 W at 24V. Peak efficiency is 98 %, and the charge algorithm is multi-stage and adaptive. Bluetooth is built in, and a VE.Direct port is fitted for wired data. The connection area is rated IP22, with IP43 for the electronics.
Our take
The 100 V open-circuit limit and 30 A charge rating define what this controller can take from the panels, up to 440 W on a 12V bank. The terminal area is only IP22 while the electronics inside are IP43, so the wiring end is the less protected side.
