The Smart IP43 Charger 12/30(3) is a 12 V battery charger with a nominal 30 A output split across 3 fully rated charge outputs. It runs an adaptive 6-stage charge routine and is rated IP43. Bluetooth and VE.Direct let you set it up from a phone or connect it to a GX device. Output is derated by 20 % between 40 and 60 °C, and the AC cord is a separate item.
Our take
Three fully rated outputs on a 30 A charger lets one unit feed three batteries, which is the practical draw here. Plan around the thermal limit: output is derated by 20 % between 40 and 60 °C, so give it somewhere with moving air.
From our buying guide
NMMA says charging sources must meet the charging profile the battery maker recommends. A charger's presets are its own maker's, not the battery's, so set it from the battery maker's figures.
Check before you buy:
- It can follow your battery's profile, since not every charger can follow a lithium maker's.
- Its output suits your bank. ProMariner recommends about 10 percent of the batteries' total amp-hour capacity, with one charger output for each battery.
- It suits how you'll use it, since ProMariner says its waterproof chargers are for batteries not in use while charging.
