Victron's Smart IP43 Charger 12/50(3) is a 12 V battery charger that runs from 120 to 240 V AC. It has three fully rated charge outputs and a normal-mode charge current of 50 A, and it is lithium compatible. Communication is by Bluetooth or VE.Direct, the case is rated IP43, and the battery temperature sensor is an optional extra.
Our take
Three fully rated charge outputs on a 12 V unit mean one charger can look after more than one battery from a single AC connection. The temperature sensor is optional and the AC cord comes separately, so both are extras to plan for.

NMMA says charging sources must meet the charging profile the battery maker recommends. A charger's presets are its own maker's, not the battery's, so set it from the battery maker's figures.
Check before you buy:
- It can follow your battery's profile, since not every charger can follow a lithium maker's.
- Its output suits your bank. ProMariner recommends about 10 percent of the batteries' total amp-hour capacity, with one charger output for each battery.
- It suits how you'll use it, since ProMariner says its waterproof chargers are for batteries not in use while charging.
