The Skylla-TG 24/30(1+1) is a Victron charger for 24 V batteries, taking 120 to 240 V AC input. It has one house-battery output at a nominal 30 A and a second 4 A output for a starter battery. Victron recommends it for a house bank of 150 to 500 Ah. A temperature sensor is included, settings are adjusted with DIP switches and potentiometers, and the case is rated IP21.

Our take

With 30 A on the house output and only 4 A for the starter battery, the Skylla-TG 24/30(1+1) is aimed at a 24 V house bank, with the starter battery simply kept topped up. The recommended 150 to 500 Ah range shows how big a bank the 30 A is meant to feed.

From our buying guide

NMMA says charging sources must meet the charging profile the battery maker recommends. A charger's presets are its own maker's, not the battery's, so set it from the battery maker's figures.

Check before you buy:

  • It can follow your battery's profile, since not every charger can follow a lithium maker's.
  • Its output suits your bank. ProMariner recommends about 10 percent of the batteries' total amp-hour capacity, with one charger output for each battery.
  • It suits how you'll use it, since ProMariner says its waterproof chargers are for batteries not in use while charging.
