The Skylla-TG 24/100(1+1) 230V is a 24 V battery charger with two outputs: a 100 A nominal output for the house bank and a 4 A output for a starter battery. It runs from 230 V AC, accepting 185 to 264 V, and comes with a battery temperature sensor. It is meant for house banks of 500 to 1,000 Ah and uses forced cooling. The enclosure is rated IP21.
Our take
The 4 A starter output alongside the 100 A house output means one unit can top up a separate engine battery as well as the main bank. At IP21 the case has little water protection, so it belongs somewhere dry.
From our buying guide
NMMA says charging sources must meet the charging profile the battery maker recommends. A charger's presets are its own maker's, not the battery's, so set it from the battery maker's figures.
Check before you buy:
- It can follow your battery's profile, since not every charger can follow a lithium maker's.
- Its output suits your bank. ProMariner recommends about 10 percent of the batteries' total amp-hour capacity, with one charger output for each battery.
- It suits how you'll use it, since ProMariner says its waterproof chargers are for batteries not in use while charging.
