The Quattro 24/8000/200-100/100 is a Victron inverter-charger for 24 V battery banks. It delivers 6,400 W continuous at 25°C with a 16,000 W peak, and its charger can put up to 200 A into the battery. A battery temperature sensor is included. Two AC inputs let it connect to two sources, such as shore power and a generator, and switch to the active one automatically. The unit weighs 45 kg and carries an IP20 rating.

Our take

A 200 A maximum charge current on a 24 V Quattro is a heavy charging load, so it calls for a battery bank and cabling sized to take it. Two AC inputs let shore power and a generator share the one unit, and at 45 kg it needs a solid mounting surface.

From our buying guide

On a boat subpart I covers, an electrical component must not ignite fuel vapor around it unless it is isolated from gasoline fuel sources. Ignition protection is the maker's statement.

Check before you buy:

  • It can follow your battery's profile, since not every charger can follow a lithium maker's.
  • On a boat subpart I covers, each ungrounded output conductor from a battery needs a manually reset, trip-free circuit breaker or fuse within 72 inches of the battery.
