The Phoenix Inverter 12/3000 120V VE.Bus is a 12 V inverter with a 120 V AC output. It delivers 2,400 W continuous at 25°C and 6,000 W peak, and is rated 3,000 VA on a nonlinear load at that temperature. Maximum efficiency is 93 %. Output power falls to 2,200 W at 40°C and 1,700 W at 65°C, so the temperature where it is mounted sets how much it can deliver. Victron also lists this unit under the NT-865 number.
Our take
Continuous output is 2,400 W at 25°C but falls to 2,200 W at 40°C and 1,700 W at 65°C, so the temperature where the inverter is mounted decides how much of its rating you actually get from it.
From our buying guide
On a boat subpart I covers, an electrical component must not ignite fuel vapor around it unless it is isolated from gasoline fuel sources. Ignition protection is the maker's statement.
Check before you buy:
- It can follow your battery's profile, since not every charger can follow a lithium maker's.
- On a boat subpart I covers, each ungrounded output conductor from a battery needs a manually reset, trip-free circuit breaker or fuse within 72 inches of the battery.
