The Victron Orion-Tr Smart 24/12-30A is a non-isolated, 360W DC to DC charger with built-in Bluetooth, used in dual battery systems to charge a service battery from the alternator and start battery. It works with lead acid and lithium and runs an adaptive three-stage bulk, absorption and float algorithm. Units can be paralleled without limit to raise output. It holds full rated output up to 40°C and operates to 55°C.
Our take
The lithium setting uses a fixed 2 hour absorption default, while lead acid absorption stretches after a deep discharge, so charging follows the chemistry connected. Output also reduces at high ambient temperature, so heat can limit what it delivers.
