This Victron cable translates the remote on/off signal from a VE.Bus BMS into the logic other Victron products need. The BMS output is normally high and goes open circuit on an alarm, while the products it serves switch off with an active pull down. It is meant for all Skylla-TG models and for the Battery Protect BP40i, BP60i and BP200i, which are all discontinued.
Our take
The VE.Bus BMS output is normally high and goes open circuit on alarm, while the units it serves switch off with an active pull down. So the cable works as a signal converter rather than a power lead, and only for the named Skylla-TG and Battery Protect models.
From our buying guide
On a boat subpart I covers, an electrical component must not ignite fuel vapor around it unless it is isolated from gasoline fuel sources. Ignition protection is the maker's statement.
Check before you buy:
- 33 CFR 183 subpart I applies to boats that have a gasoline engine, except an outboard, so a gasoline generator counts.
- On a boat subpart I covers, each ungrounded output conductor from a battery needs a manually reset, trip-free circuit breaker or fuse within 72 inches of the battery.
