The MultiPlus Compact 12/2000/80-50 is a 12 V inverter-charger with a true sine wave output at 120 VAC. It is rated 1,600 W continuous at 25°C, 2,000 VA on a nonlinear load at that temperature, and 4,000 W peak. The charger delivers up to 80 A. A 50 A transfer switch passes shore or generator power through to the loads, and the PowerAssist feature can add battery power to a limited AC source. Up to 4 units can run in parallel for more output.
Our take
Continuous output drops from 1,600 W at 25°C to 1,100 W at 65°C, so a hot engine space costs real capacity. Size the loads against the lower figure if the unit will sit somewhere warm.
