Victron's MultiPlus 24/3000/70-50 is a combined inverter and charger for a 24 V battery. Inverter output is 2,400 W continuous at 25°C, easing to 2,200 W at 40°C, with a 6,000 W peak rating. The charger can deliver up to 70 A, the transfer switch is rated 50 A, and PowerAssist is included to support a limited AC supply. The case is rated IP21.
Our take
Continuous output is 2,400 W at 25°C and falls to 2,200 W at 40°C, so a warm engine room costs real output. PowerAssist adds a second trick: charging is cut first, then the battery boosts the supply, when a limited shore or generator source would overload.
From our buying guide
On a boat subpart I covers, an electrical component must not ignite fuel vapor around it unless it is isolated from gasoline fuel sources. Ignition protection is the maker's statement.
Check before you buy:
- It can follow your battery's profile, since not every charger can follow a lithium maker's.
- On a boat subpart I covers, each ungrounded output conductor from a battery needs a manually reset, trip-free circuit breaker or fuse within 72 inches of the battery.
