The Victron MultiPlus 12/3000/120-50 is a combined inverter and charger for a 12 V battery bank, with a 230 V output. It gives up to 120 A of charge current at 25 °C ambient and a 50 A AC transfer switch rating, and peak output is 6,000 W. Continuous output is 2,400 W at 25 °C, 2,200 W at 40 °C and 1,700 W at 65 °C. Up to four units can be run in parallel for more power.
Our take
Continuous output falls from 2,400 W at 25 °C to 2,200 W at 40 °C and 1,700 W at 65 °C, so size loads for the temperature where it will sit, not the 3000 in the name. The 120 A charge figure is also quoted only up to 25 °C ambient.
