The MultiPlus 12/2000/80-50 is an inverter and charger in one unit for a 12 V battery bank, with a true sine wave inverter. It is rated for 1,600 W continuous at 25°C and 2,000 VA on nonlinear loads, with a 3,500 W peak. The charger side can push up to 80 A, and the transfer switch is rated for 50 A of incoming AC. Output drops as temperature climbs, down to 1,000 W at 65°C, so the continuous figure depends on how warm the unit runs.
Our take
The 1,000 W rating at 65°C, against 1,600 W at 25°C, means heat takes more than a third off the usable output, so a warm engine space matters when choosing where to mount it.
