The Victron Lynx Distributor (M10) is a DC busbar of tinned copper, 8mm x 30mm, rated for 1,000 A continuous, for 12V, 24V or 48V systems. There is room for four DC fuses, and an LED on the front shows the condition of each one. A 40 cm RJ10 cable is included for power and data, and the enclosure is protection category IP22. The busbar has reverse polarity protection, though the RJ10 cable connection does not.
Our take
The 1,000 A continuous rating on the 8mm x 30mm tinned copper busbar is the headline, and the front LEDs show fuse condition without opening anything. The RJ10 cable connection has no reverse polarity protection, so wire that lead with care.
From our buying guide
On a boat subpart I covers, each ungrounded output conductor from a battery needs a manually reset, trip-free circuit breaker or fuse within 72 inches of the battery.
Check before you buy:
- On a boat subpart I covers, a continuously energized ungrounded terminal needs a boot, nipple, cap, cover or shield.
- Ignition protection on a charger or switch is the maker's statement, so read what it says and which standard it names.
