This Victron module from the Lynx distribution line joins and fuses up to two lithium battery strings. It has a positive and a negative busbar of tinned copper, 8mm x 30mm, rated for 1,000 A continuous, plus connections for two Class-T fuses and a ground point for the DC system. The fuses themselves, in 225A, 250A, 350A or 400A, are bought separately. The enclosure is IP22 and the unit works across a 9 to 60 V DC range. Installations with three or more strings use several Class-T modules.
Our take
With a 1,000 A continuous rating and two Class-T fuse positions, this module takes two lithium strings on one tinned-copper busbar pair. Fuses of 225A to 400A are bought separately, so the size you pick sets the protection for each string, and a third string needs another module.
From our buying guide
On a boat subpart I covers, each ungrounded output conductor from a battery needs a manually reset, trip-free circuit breaker or fuse within 72 inches of the battery.
Check before you buy:
- On a boat subpart I covers, a continuously energized ungrounded terminal needs a boot, nipple, cap, cover or shield.
- Ignition protection on a charger or switch is the maker's statement, so read what it says and which standard it names.
