The Inv24/500 120V is a Victron inverter for 24 V battery systems, with a Nema 5-15R outlet protected by GFCI and a VE.Direct port. It is rated 500 VA at 25°C on a nonlinear load, gives 400 W of continuous AC output at 25°C and has a peak power rating of 900 W. Continuous power is 350 W at 40°C. Maximum efficiency is 90 %, and zero-load power is 6.5 W.
Our take
The 400 W continuous rating at 25°C falls to 350 W at 40°C, so the usable output shrinks as the space around the inverter warms. The 500 VA figure is for a nonlinear load, so size loads against the watts.
From our buying guide
On a boat subpart I covers, an electrical component must not ignite fuel vapor around it unless it is isolated from gasoline fuel sources. Ignition protection is the maker's statement.
Check before you buy:
- It can follow your battery's profile, since not every charger can follow a lithium maker's.
- On a boat subpart I covers, each ungrounded output conductor from a battery needs a manually reset, trip-free circuit breaker or fuse within 72 inches of the battery.
