This Victron inverter runs from a 24 V battery, with an input range of 18.4 to 34 V, and feeds a NEMA 5-15R outlet. It delivers 400 W continuous at 25 degrees C and 350 W at 40 degrees C, with a 500 VA rating on nonlinear loads and a 900 W peak. Idle draw is 6.5 W, or 1.5 W in the adjustable ECO mode. The unit weighs 3.9 kg and has a VE.Direct port for communication.
Our take
A 900 W peak against 400 W continuous gives this 24 V unit room for a short start-up surge, but the 6.5 W zero-load draw means it still costs the bank power whenever it is on. ECO mode lowers that to 1.5 W.
From our buying guide
On a boat subpart I covers, an electrical component must not ignite fuel vapor around it unless it is isolated from gasoline fuel sources. Ignition protection is the maker's statement.
Check before you buy:
- It can follow your battery's profile, since not every charger can follow a lithium maker's.
- On a boat subpart I covers, each ungrounded output conductor from a battery needs a manually reset, trip-free circuit breaker or fuse within 72 inches of the battery.
