The Inverter 24/3000 is a Victron pure sine wave inverter for a 24 V battery bank. It is rated 3,000 VA, with 2,400 W continuous at 25°C and a 6,000 W peak. The output is 120 V and the frequency can be set to 50 Hz or 60 Hz, so it can be matched to the loads aboard. Continuous power falls to 1,700 W at 65°C, which is the number to plan around in a hot space.
Our take
A 6,000 W peak rating on a 2,400 W continuous inverter leaves headroom for brief surges, but continuous power falls to 1,700 W at 65°C. In a hot space, plan the loads around that lower number rather than the 25°C rating.
From our buying guide
On a boat subpart I covers, an electrical component must not ignite fuel vapor around it unless it is isolated from gasoline fuel sources. Ignition protection is the maker's statement.
Check before you buy:
- It can follow your battery's profile, since not every charger can follow a lithium maker's.
- On a boat subpart I covers, each ungrounded output conductor from a battery needs a manually reset, trip-free circuit breaker or fuse within 72 inches of the battery.
