Victron GX Tank 140 Tank Level Input Module

Brand:
Victron Energy
Part no:
BPP920140100

Where to buy

The GX Tank 140 is a Victron Energy accessory for GX system monitoring products. It reads up to four tank level sensors and shows the levels on the GX device and in the VRM Portal. It accepts current senders (4 to 20 mA) and voltage senders (0 to 10 V). It connects to the GX device by USB, which also powers it. Two of the four inputs supply 24 V to the sender, and readings can be damped between 1 and 60 seconds.

Our take

Four inputs that accept both 4 to 20 mA and 0 to 10 V senders let one module read different sender types, and USB power means no extra supply wire to the module. Only two inputs give 24 V to the sender, so the others need outside power.

From our buying guide

BCI defines a battery management system as an electronic system that monitors a battery's condition, performance and health. Some lithium batteries have one built in and some need an external unit.

Check before you buy:

  • A voltage reading means little until the battery has rested, and each maker sets its own rest and table.
  • An amp-hour figure needs its rate, since BCI says rated capacity is specified at a particular discharge rate, temperature and cutoff voltage.
