The Victron GX IO-Extender 150 adds more inputs and outputs to a GX device. It has digital I/Os configurable as 8 inputs, 8 outputs or 4 of each, 4 PWM channels with status LEDs and 2 relays, and it can be controlled through Node-RED or the Switch pane on the GX device. It connects over USB, which also powers it, and draws under 100 mW when idle. The enclosure is rated IP20. It has no WiFi of its own.
Our take
The four PWM channels and the configurable digital I/Os make this an expansion board for switching and signalling, not a network device: it has no WiFi and connects over USB, which also powers it.
From our buying guide
BCI defines a battery management system as an electronic system that monitors a battery's condition, performance and health. Some lithium batteries have one built in and some need an external unit.
Check before you buy:
- A voltage reading means little until the battery has rested, and each maker sets its own rest and table.
- An amp-hour figure needs its rate, since BCI says rated capacity is specified at a particular discharge rate, temperature and cutoff voltage.
