The Cyrix-Li-charge 12/24V-120A is a Victron intelligent charge relay for 12V or 24V systems, with a continuous current and breaking capacity of 120 A. A control input decides when it joins the batteries: it engages when the input is high and releases when the input is left floating or pulled low. It draws 4 mA when open. The case is IP54 and weighs 0.11 kg.
Our take
The control input is the thing to plan around on the Cyrix-Li-charge: it engages when the input is high and drops out when left floating or pulled low. So the relay only joins the batteries when something drives that input, with 120 A continuous capacity behind it.
From our buying guide
NMMA says not to mix battery chemistries or types in the same bank, and the makers add their own limits.
Check before you buy:
- Each maker sets its own alternator rules. Battle Born calls a DC-to-DC charger a simple and safe way to use alternator charging.
- Battle Born warns that a BMS shutdown leaves the vessel without power, and that one during alternator charging can severely damage the alternator.
- Ignition protection on a charger or switch is the maker's statement, so read what it says and which standard it names.
