- Built-in WiFi access point; NMEA 2000 integration
The Victron Cerbo GX MK2 is a communication centre that gathers a boat's Victron products in one place. A dual core processor runs it, and a built-in WiFi access point lets you reach it directly from the VictronConnect app. It integrates with NMEA 2000 and multifunction displays, has inputs for resistive tank level and temperature sensors, and can start and stop a generator automatically. A memory card slot keeps data for offline use, and it mounts on a DIN rail. The touchscreen is an optional extra.
Our take
A dual core processor manages the connected Victron products, and the built-in WiFi access point lets a phone reach the unit directly. The touchscreen is an optional extra, so a basic setup relies on the app or a connected multifunction display for viewing.
From our buying guide
BCI defines a battery management system as an electronic system that monitors a battery's condition, performance and health. Some lithium batteries have one built in and some need an external unit.
Check before you buy:
- A voltage reading means little until the battery has rested, and each maker sets its own rest and table.
- An amp-hour figure needs its rate, since BCI says rated capacity is specified at a particular discharge rate, temperature and cutoff voltage.
