This is a single-tracker MPPT solar charge controller that moves power from solar panels into a battery bank. It is rated for 15 A of charge current and accepts panels up to 75 V open-circuit. Nominal panel capacity is 220 W on a 12 V battery and 440 W on a 24 V battery, with peak efficiency of 98 %. Communication is over VE.Direct, and Bluetooth is not built in, though a separate dongle can add phone access.
Our take
The 15 A rating with 220 W of nominal panel power on a 12 V battery sets the size of array this controller is meant to handle, and the 75 V open-circuit ceiling caps how many panels you can string together. Bluetooth is not built in, so phone monitoring needs a separate dongle.
From our buying guide
NMMA says charging sources must meet the charging profile the battery maker recommends. A charger's presets are its own maker's, so set it from the battery maker's figures.
Check before you buy:
- It can follow your battery's profile, since not every charger can follow a lithium maker's.
- On a boat subpart I covers, each ungrounded output conductor from a battery needs a manually reset, trip-free circuit breaker or fuse within 72 inches of the battery.
