The BlueSolar MPPT 150/60-Tr is a Victron solar charge controller with a rated charge current of 60 A. It accepts up to 150 V open circuit from the panels and selects 12 V, 24 V or 48 V battery systems automatically. Nominal panel power is 860 W at 12 V, 1,720 W at 24 V and 3,440 W at 48 V, and peak efficiency is 98 %. It talks over VE.Direct, and Bluetooth monitoring takes a separate dongle.
Our take
The 150 V open circuit limit caps how many panels you can string in series, while the 60 A rated charge current sets what it can push into the battery. Bluetooth is not built in: it takes a separate dongle to pair with a phone.
From our buying guide
NMMA says charging sources must meet the charging profile the battery maker recommends. A charger's presets are its own maker's, so set it from the battery maker's figures.
Check before you buy:
- It can follow your battery's profile, since not every charger can follow a lithium maker's.
- On a boat subpart I covers, each ungrounded output conductor from a battery needs a manually reset, trip-free circuit breaker or fuse within 72 inches of the battery.
