Our take
The rating drops from 65 A at 40°C to 39 A at 60°C, so size it for the lower figure if it will sit somewhere hot. At 0.2 kg with M6 bolts it is a compact unit, and Bluetooth is not included.
From our buying guide
NMMA says not to mix battery chemistries or types in the same bank, and the makers add their own limits.
Check before you buy:
- Each maker sets its own alternator rules. Battle Born calls a DC-to-DC charger a simple and safe way to use alternator charging.
- Battle Born warns that a BMS shutdown leaves the vessel without power, and that one during alternator charging can severely damage the alternator.
- Ignition protection on a charger or switch is the maker's statement, so read what it says and which standard it names.
