This Victron Quattro-II is a 12 V inverter/charger that delivers 2,400 W continuously at 25°C, 3,000 VA on nonlinear loads and 5,500 W at peak. Its charger can supply up to 120 A at 25°C ambient. It accepts two AC inputs and connects to whichever is active, with a transfer switch rated 50 A. 240VAC is only available when it is fed from a split phase 120/240VAC source.
Our take
The 2,400 W continuous rating at 25°C sets the working limit of this 12 V Quattro-II, well below its 5,500 W peak figure, so size loads to the continuous number. The second AC input switches in automatically, but 240VAC only comes through when the supply is split phase.
From our buying guide
On a boat subpart I covers, an electrical component must not ignite fuel vapor around it unless it is isolated from gasoline fuel sources. Ignition protection is the maker's statement.
Check before you buy:
- It can follow your battery's profile, since not every charger can follow a lithium maker's.
- On a boat subpart I covers, each ungrounded output conductor from a battery needs a manually reset, trip-free circuit breaker or fuse within 72 inches of the battery.
